If you are looking for a good African American Christmas Ornament, you might have to look a long way to find something that satisfies your tastes. Yes, there are a lot of African American Christmas Decorations out there, but most of them are really not all that nice. Basically, they are just normal Christmas tree ornaments repackaged as being African American Christmas Ornaments for some cheesy, lame reason.

I have even seen plain old glass baubles sold as an African American Christmas Ornament set because they were in red, yellow, and green. Have you ever heard of something quite that silly? I know that I have not. A lot of the time, a so-called African American Christmas Ornament is actually an African Christmas ornament repackaged to appeal to people who are trying to recapture a sense of their black heritage.

For example, many times people will sell a silly little wooden sculpture of some safari animal as an African American Christmas Ornament just because that animal comes from Africa. Even more insulting, sometimes I have seen silly stylized African masks and figurines sold as an African American Christmas Ornament. Talk about perpetuating stereotypes. It is quite a silly state of affairs, if you ask me!

In my opinion, the best way to get an African American Christmas Ornament is to make one yourself, and that is that. You should think of what it means to be a person of color in the United States, and put that into your craft. Use everything about it to make the best African American Christmas Ornament that you can, and I am quite sure that you will not fail in what you are doing. On the contrary, Christmas tree decorations are always that much better if you make them yourself.

An African American Christmas Ornament is no different. If it comes from the heart, it is a sure thing that people will see that it is not just another commercial Christmas decoration. Of course, if you are going to go out and make yourself an African American Christmas Ornament, you probably need to know a few things about how to do arts and crafts. One of the easiest ways to make an African American Christmas Ornament, or any other Christmas decoration for that matter, is to shape it out of clay. Be sure to put a place where it tapers so that you can hang a string from it, bake it in the oven, and you are done!

To create temporary tattoos, the first thing you need to get is an airbrush kit. This includes not just your airbrush machine and spray tips, but a host of other accessories you need to do your work. It can take time to get all of your supplies together because you start out simple and work your way to more complicated tasks.

The materials you need will depend on the type and design of your tattoo. Another factor that influences your selection of airbrush materials are the surfaces you are working on. Over time, you will figure out exactly what you need and you will see your supplies start to grow and grow.

If you have just gotten into airbrushing, you might need some help putting together your airbrush kit. The problem is that you can go to your supplies resource and purchase a bundle of airbrushing equipment that you just don’t need. Not only will you buy things you may not need, you’ll spend a lot of money you don’t need to spend.

We can all admit that airbrushing supplies can get expensive, so you don’t need to buy things you don’t require. Instead, you might need help to determine exactly what you need, most of us do when we first start airbrushing. It can be difficult to determine exactly what your needs are when you first start with this art form because there are so many products available.

If you are taking an airbrushing class, you might find that your teacher or instructor can give you a supplies list. Always create a checklist of the things yoiu need and the reason you need them. This will ensure that you don't forget anything important.

Chinese tattoos are a delightful and mysterious form of self expression, especially if they include the Chinese writing symbols. They are considered much more interesting than regular pisces tattoos. The following tips will really help you in selecting a great design for your Chinese tattoo.

Step 1: Get Your Chinese Symbol Tattoo Right The Very First Time

Chinese character tattoos are one of the designs that are more than likely to go wrong. Mistranslations, bad designs and bad alignment can all [make|render[/spin] your new design meaningless.

Sure, you can get them removed if you really want, but at present it's a painful and costly process that isn't guaranteed to be 100% successful.

So don't be rushed, get professional advice and make sure you get a good quality, authentic design that you're happy with before you go under the needle. Don't end up looking like the victim of a cruel hoax.

Step 2: Don't Use Kanji Designs From Tattoo Shops

Many tattoo artists provide a variety of pre designed Kanji symbols that you can have tattooed onto your body. You may regret going for a discount design as the finished tattoo may not be to your liking.

First, many of them have been badly translated, so you may end up with a design that means something different to what you wanted. If you want a basic tattoo that's unlikely to go wrong then a zodiac design like a pisces tattoo would be better. Second, many of these generic designs have been drawn incorrectly, which changes their meaning.

So instead of going into your local tattoo shop and picking a design off the wall or from a folder, do your own research. Decide which words that you want to appear in your Chinese tattoo, get them expertly translated and then get a custom design created just for you.

Step 3: Seek Advice From A Chinese Person

This is absolutely essential. Chinese writing is extremely complex and can often be used to give one word many different meanings. So make sure you speak to a Chinese person [whocan verify that you have chosen the correct characters to represent what you intended. If possible, make sure that they are knowledgeable about Chinese symbol tattoos.

Step 4: Choose Your Words Very Carefully

When you get a new tattoo, it's important to understand that it will be with you for the rest of your life. So before you decide to get a Chinese character tattoo think long term and try to select wide broad based ideas that express who you are and what you stand for.

For example, timeless concepts such as freedom, hope and love are always good choices.

And whatever you do, avoid buzz words and jargon as they have a nasty habit of falling out of fashion within a short space of time. The object is to select a design that you'll be as happy with in twenty years time as you are today.

Step 5: Picking aAn Experienced Tattooist Can Make a Big Difference

A tattoo that consists of Chinese characters only, can look rather plain unless the writing is done with a certain amount of style and flair.

Even worse, it's easy for non Chinese tattoo artists to accidentally distort the delicate Chinese symbols. Chinese calligraphy is very exact. The strokes have to be a particular shape and be properly aligned, otherwise the meaning of the design can be lost.

So it's essential to choose a tattoo artist who is experienced in producing Chinese calligraphy.

Lastly, if you want your Chinese character tattoo to have even more impact, consider adding a small picture to your Chinese symbols.

The Chinese dragon is extremely popular with men, while the Chinese phoenix is a top choice with many women. Both of these ancient creatures represent luck and power and will make a great addition to your perfect Chinese tattoo.

If you think getting a chinese tattoo is too risky then you can always consider a tattoo of your zodiac sign like a pisces designs tattoo.

More recently however there has been a revival in the tattoo of a gemini sign and there are many new designs that are full of brilliant colors and new design motifs for anchor tattoos. There has been a revival in more traditional tattoos. Things work in cycles and what is unfashionable today may well be all the rage tomorrow.

If you are thinking about getting an anchor tattoo it helps to know the background on them and do some research to find out the different meaning and symbolism of anchor tattoos. Many great designs are suitable for your shoulders, neck, arms and legs.

If you are looking for a discrete tattoo, then you should consider an ankle tattoo. Many professional women choose this type of tattoo because it isn't overbearing and at the same time it allows them to carry something personal on their bodies.
Once you have decided on a design and coloring for your tattoo of a gemini sign you'll want to visit a reputable establishment that does tattoos. My personal preference for locating a trustworthy tattooist is to browse the internet. Always be sure to ask the tattoo artist for a list of references that you can check out for yourself.

After deciding on a tattoo parlor you'll want to discuss with the artist your concept. If you come there without a design in mind they will be able to show you a range of images that you can choose from. Most people prefer a smaller design for ankle tattoos and if the artist feels that yours is too large, they will work with you to bring it down to a scale that is more appropriate.

Getting a tattoo involves piercing the skin, and so there is going to be some pain involved, no matter how small the tattoo and no matter where it is on your body. The amount and type of pain experienced is highly variable depending on each individual's tolerance to and acceptance of pain.

While tattooing, the needles puncture the skin at a very fast rate and at a variable depth. The amount of discomfort you will suffer, depends on the size of the tattoo, where it is located and the length of the solid outline.

The least hurtful part of the process is usually the shaded sections that do not require the same degree of needle penetration as the darker outline.

Most people describe the sensation of being tattooed as similar to a warm sensation combined with a scratchy feeling. Generally, tribal gemini sign tattoos are more painful if applied to areas of the body where there is less muscle and fatty tissue covering bone, like wrists, ankles, chests, and other normally sensitive body areas.

Upper arms are usually the least painful, while the ankles and sternum can be quite sensitive.

The tattoo pain is certainly not unbearable, here are some tips for coping with and minimizing the pain:
Find a reputable tattooist that you feel comfortable with to get the tattoo work done, the confidence you get from a tattooist can minimize your pain to the highest.

Don't show up drunk or on drugs.
Go in with some determination and accept the fact that a few hours of discomfort without giving the tattooist a hard time will help ensure that you get a first-rate tattoo. If you feel you can't take the pain anymore, tell your tattooist.

Take a short break, or come back in a few days. Not many people are aware of the fact that your tattooing can be done over a number of visits to your tattooist. Break up your session if needed. Listen to music or let your imagination go wild during the procedure, a certain degree of distraction set by your self will help you put less concentration on the pain.

Design Stunning Leg Tattoos With Airbrushing

To create temporary tattoos, the first thing you need to get is an airbrush kit. In addition to an airbrush you will also need a compressor, paints, tapes, sealants, stencils and templates. The great thing about airbrushing is that you can start off with simple designs before progressing to more complicated ones.

The materials you need will depend on the type and design of your tattoo. If you will be airbrushing on several different surfaces, you will obviously need more supplies than if you will always be working on the same type of surface.

Many newcomers to the art of airbrushing have wasted a lot of time and effort by rushing into buying equipment without doing any research.

A lot of the airbrushing equipment is on the pricey side, so it pays to be prudent with your purchases. It's always a good idea to do your research first and plan properly before committing yourself to expense. Beginners can be very easily confused by the vast array of different products to choose from.

It's a good idea to sign up and take some lessons in the art of airbrushing and you may also get some advice on the essential items to purchase. Always create a checklist of the things yoiu need and the reason you need them. This will ensure that you don't forget anything important.

A smile is the consequence of happiness. It lifts and widens the lower face and the uplifted cheeks will often crease the flesh just below the eyes resulting in the so-called "crow’s feet".

To appreciate the makings of a smile in its numerous manifestations we must first appreciate the underlying anatomy.

Below we list the three important muscles that add to a smile:

* The Zygomaticus Major - is the major "muscle of happiness". This elongated muscle begins at the front area of the Zygomatic Arch (cheek bone) and inserts into the node.

When the zygomaticus major contracts it bulges and raises the cheek while further deepening the Nasolabial Furrow or smile-line.

* The Malaris - lies on top of the zygomaticus major and is a extended, ribbon-like deep-seated muscle. It begins at the temple and inserts into and forms the bottom part of the nasolabial furrow.

The malaris is the cheek muscle. It pulls up the cheek in an outward and back bearing making it swell and giving it the puffed cheek look.

* The Buccinator - quadrilateral muscle forms the "cheek cushion". It begins on the rear, inside of the jaw and inserts into the "corners" of the mouth.

When smiling the buccinator contracts thus heaving at the corners and widen the mouth.

As the mouth is widened and pulled by both the zygomaticus major and buccinator the lips are extended and flattened. So is the chin. The philtrum is shortened and the nostrils flare a bit.

Below are still other minor muscles that add to the smile:

1. The Risorius - is a curious muscle because not everybody has one. Some people only have a risorius on one side of the face. Others have a large, extensive triangular shaped one.

The Risorius begins in the fatty tissue of the Masseter (whose action is employed largely for chewing) and inserts into the node of the mouth.

The risorius delicately pulls the node backwards and up. Its effect is mainly seen in gentle smiles.

2. Incisivus Labii Superioris and Inferioris Superioris - The superioris does the heaving. These narrow, band-like muscles begin just above the incisor tooth region and also attach to the node.

When fully shrunk, a puckering up of the lips (a kiss) is produced.

3. The Levator Labii Superioris is a thin, quadrilateral muscle whose effect on the smile is a bit limited.

But, the upper part of this muscle adds to the volume of the cheek and the nasolabial furrow.

Over the three important muscles goes the most complex of all the facial muscles, the Orbicularis Oris which operates throughout a large range of actions and expressions.

During a smile the bottom eyelids are also pressed upwards. This is the result of a secondary action where the Orbicularis Oculi (the muscle of the eye socket) contracts.

The nasolabial furrow is deepened as it is simultaneously pulled and pressed upwards and outward. It is best to understate the sharp fold of the nasolabial furrow otherwise the smile will deteriorate into a scowl.

As the node of the mouth is pulled out and upwards the flesh is gathered into delicate vertical ridges.

The interstice of the mouth curves upwards, broadening and flattening the lips while reducing the philtrum. The nostrils of the nose also widen as they are pulled outwards.

The top portion of the nasolabial furrow is created by a slender, three-part muscle named the Levator Labii Superioris Alaeque Nasi. This is the muscle that produces wrinkles in the nose during sniffing.

The parts of this muscle are the furrow part which inserts into the top part of the nasolabial furrow; the alar part which attaches under and behind the wing of the nose (Alae Nasi); and the lip part which attaches continuously into the ridge just above the top lip and to the philtrum.

When sketching the nasolabial furrow be careful not to over-do it. A delicate suggestion is all that is needed. Otherwise your lovely smile will quickly degenerate into a sneer.

With this we have enumerated and discussed the most essential muscles that are involved in the smile. This should put you on the right path for appreciating the anatomy of the smile.

Why waste time reading a lot other resources when this article contains everything you have been looking for?

It's bad enough that people get tattoos. Why someone would want to use their body as a canvas for pretty bad art is beyond some people. But to really go off the deep end people try devil tattoos. This eccentric of tattoo isn't actually evil.

The Devil is the ultimate evil. Religions in the west share this entity. Even the Muslims have a devil. The devil has other names such as Satan, Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Mephistopheles. But in demon mythology each of these is a separate being. They aren't all evil. They're each often depicted in tattoos.

The Christian devil has an interesting background. Lucifer was an Archangel second only to God in all the universe. No other was his equal. But Lucifer became jealous of God himself. Lucifer wanted to rule all of heaven and all of the universe. He began a revolt, recruiting many angels to his cause. God stopped the revolt thanks to another Archangel, Michael. The fallen archangel and his minions were cast out of heaven. Many of these elements are often depicted in Devil tattoos.

And with what measure you meet, it shall be measured to you.

Devil Tattoos get their name from old English. So does the devil's name. If the word devil is the son, then the Old English deofol is the father and the Latin diabolus the grandfather. They all trace back to the Greek diabolos. It means to throw slander. The term now, in general, refers to a greater meaning of hell. In some languages the word for angel eventually became their word for devil. But strictly speaking in the culture from which these languages come, a devil is not the same thing as an angel. All of these roots can be incorporated into devil tattoos.

A certain connotation goes along with devil tattoos. Someone who wears them is generally a little evil, or maybe even a lot evil. They might also be mischievous or a little rough in their behavior . It's not necessarily the mark of a criminal. Generally it takes a certain kind of person to wear one.

Sometimes devil tattoos can carry a negative image. There are people who think they are a mark of the dark lord. That is, that they denote someone who actually worships or works for the Devil. That's likely not true.

Don't even think about getting any devil tattoos.

Useful Info About Tattoo Designs

A lot of people like the way tattoos appear on others and want one for themselves, but have no idea what they would like. It’s a pretty big decision; chances are this is something you’ll have to live with for the rest of your life.

So how do you get “the one”?

More often than not, a lot of people are referring to the internet to find their tattoo ideas.

This has led, in recent years, to more choice, making tattoos more unique to an individual.

Tattoo artists’ design books, usually found lying around their studio or hanging on the studio walls are another place people can get tattoo ideas. Unfortunately, a lot of tattoo artists don’t update their collections often, which leads to the same design getting tattooed on many people over and over again.

So how do you ensure that you have a one-of-a-kind tattoo no one else has?

Getting a tattoo pack is one way to go about this. These packs come stuffed with dozens of completely original tattoo designs, but you do have to pay for them (though it is usually nominal). The great thing about tattoo packs is that they are guaranteed to be completely unique and original. Chances are, you won’t find many of the designs within the pack anywhere else, making your tattoo truly special. It’s also easy to pick out a tattoo pack, as they are organized with themes that appeal to different people.

For those who are truly imaginative, you can make an effort to sit down and design your own tattoo, try to come up with things that mean something to you;something that you feel like you’ll never regret.

One great idea is to explore your family’s past and incorporate themes from your heritage into your design. If you are of Germanic heritage, for instance, you could try some Teutonic symbols or the like.

For people of Celtic heritage, Celtic designs are very popular for people of any descent these days, and are therefore easy to find. It’s also brilliant if you design your own tattoo; tattoo artists are more than happy to look at the design you created sitting at your desk and transfer it to your skin.

In the end, the best way to come up with an idea for a tattoo is to look inside yourself. Don’t choose things that could change suddenly (boy/girlfriends, cars, jobs, etc), find something that is a part of your very being and try to come up with something related to this.

A design related to your heritage is great, for example, because your heritage can never change; it is a part of every cell in your body.

If you can come up with something along these lines, you should have no trouble coming up with tattoo designs that you will be happy with for the rest of your life.

Nautical Star Tattoos

Lots of debates focus on the meaning associated with nautical star tattoos, and the interpretation often varies with the user. This actually led to an increased significance level according to the user and taking context into account as well. Historically speaking nautical star tattoos were a characteristic of sailors, who had their superstitions and fears losing their way at sea or never seeing land again. Thus the north star became the home symbol and the silent promise that they'll find their way or path in life. Such nautical star tattoos clearly stand for good fortune and the chance to get home in the best of conditions.

Nautical Star Tattoos

Punk rockers, military groups, gays and lesbians are the ones to use the nautical star tattoos as symbols or logos, but taken separately they all consider distinct meanings to the symbol. For the military, the nautical star tattoos mean pretty much the same thing as for sailors; the military look forward to their return home. Freedom to choose, this is the message given by lesbians to the nautical star tattoos. In the 40s and 50s, when people didn't have that much liberty to show their alternative orientations, lesbians would tattoo the nautical star on the inside part of the wrist where a watch could camouflage it very well, but in the evening when they went out, the tattoo could be seen and recognized by others just like them.

As for punk groups, nautical star tattoos represent a symbolic way of expressing their differences. With the same hints to the North star, these tattoos show individual attempts to find one's path in life even if that being a weirdo. With punk groups nautical star tattoos are often identified in the hand sleeve area or in combination with other designs. Yet, the choice of a nautical star doesn't have to be connected with pertaining to one group or another, as it can simply be a matter of liking or disliking a design. The preference for one tattoo or another is highly personal and it should stay as such.

Nautical Star Tattoos

Rejections of possible interpretations for the meaning of nautical star tattoos are also very common; thus, the military often debunk and deny all the possible associations with gay or lesbian groups. Yet, other people wear such tattoos without even giving them a meaning other than their personal liking for the design. All in all, the truth is that nautical star tattoos are part of a tradition that is far from dying out.

Devil Tattoos

It's bad enough that people get tattoos. There are better uses for the arm than to be a canvas for bad pictures. But to really go off the deep end people try devil tattoos. This type of tattoo isn't really evil.

Devil Tattoos

The devil tempted Eve with the apple – he's evil. It's a concept of many Western religions. Many people don't know that even the Muslim faith has its own version of the Devil. The devil is known by other names such as Beelzebub and Satan. But in demon mythology each of these is a separate being. And they're not necessarily evil. All of these are featured in various devil tattoos.

The Christian devil has an interesting background. The most powerful and respected of all the Archangels was Lucifer. No other was his equal. Lucifer began to believe he was greater than God. Lucifer wanted to rule all of heaven and all of the universe. He began a revolt, recruiting many angels to his cause. God, Michael, and the other Archangels and Angels still loyal to God defeated Lucifer and his forces. The fallen archangel and his minions were cast out of heaven. Many of these elements are often depicted in Devil tattoos.

Devil tattoos derive their name from old English. So does the name of the devil, of course. Devil comes from the Old English word deofol which was derived from the Latin diabolus. That word was derived from the Greek word diabolos. That word is roughly translated as to slander across or to hurl the slander. It now means the ruler of hell. Outside of English the word devil comes from words meaning angel. But the devil is no angel. All of these roots can be incorporated into devil tattoos.

Devil tattoos have specific meanings. Someone who wears them is generally a little evil, or maybe even a lot evil. There could also be lewd behavior and mischief . It's not necessarily the mark of a criminal. But it tells you something about their own self image and about what to expect from them.

Sometimes devil tattoos can carry a negative image. Some people believe they are the symbol of the beast. That is, that they denote someone who actually worships or works for the Devil. But it's not true.

Devil Tattoos

Take some good advice. Don't get any tattoo, much less devil tattoos.

Star Tattoo

Wearing a star tattoo is not that original but it could surely make one feel good. the star as a symbol is present in various cultures but with multiple parallel implications: for sailors, the nautical star tattoo reminds the security of home and the necessity for superior guidance at all times. Even with such a tattoo, original details and interpretations can be achieved one can enlarge or add up, by the color and size alternations, the applications of supplementary items and the body part where the tattoo is made.

Star Tattoo

We find the futility of a moment in a shooting star tattoo, as it vanishes away, just as quickly as time passes over us. Remembrance of a moment: this is the most common meaning of such a star tattoo, though the design doesn't necessarily have to express something, it could simply appeal to one from the aesthetic point of view. A more philosophical approach to a star tattoo is that of goal fulfillment, regardless of whether we refer to career, love relationship or social life. If we get to cultural implications, a tattoo star could have a more profound explanation such as rebirth, better life change or anything great that marked one's existence.

The pentagram and the hexagram are some other star tattoo cases charged with a considerable amount of symbolism. For a down-pointing pentagram many people tend to compare it with a ram figure that stands fr the devil. An upward pointing direction is good as the star, stands for balance and protection. The star tattoo in the shape of the hexagram stands for what is also called the Star of David, the holy symbol of Judaism that explains the divine and human coexisting. As a direct reference to the Creator, the choice of the hexagram as a tattoo star requires serious consideration and quite some commitment.

Star Tattoo

Not every star tattoo has a story to tell, as it is most often chosen according to trendy criteria, personal expectations and friends' suggestions, and they don't always mean something in particular. The location for the star tattoo is another aspect to consider. Thus, women prefer the ankle, the lower back, the hip or the shoulder as the most popular places to get a star tattoo, while men go for the upper arm classic variant most of the time.

More recently however there has been a revival in the tattoo of a gemini sign and there are many new designs that are full of brilliant colors and new design motifs for anchor tattoos. There has been a revival in more traditional tattoos.

As always history, symbolism and meaning provide an interesting overlap of cultures and times.

If you are thinking about getting an anchor tattoo it helps to know the background on them and do some research to find out the different meaning and symbolism of anchor tattoos. Some common designs in ankle tattoos are a tribal symbol, a floral arrangement or an initial.

An ankle tattoo can be small enough that it isn't noticeable unless the person is very close.

The next step once you have found a suitable tattoo shop is to select a design that meets your requirements.

Generally, gemini sign tattoos are more painful if applied to areas of the body where there is less muscle and fatty tissue covering bone, like wrists, ankles, chests, and other normally sensitive body areas.

You should never take any pain killers or drugs to try and reduce the pain of your tattoo.
Go in with some determination and accept the fact that a few hours of discomfort without giving the tattooist a hard time will help ensure that you get a first-rate tattoo. If you feel you can't take the pain anymore, tell your tattooist.

Take a short break, or come back in a few days. Tattoos don't have to be applied all in one sitting. Break up your session if needed. Listen to music or let your imagination go wild during the procedure, a certain degree of distraction set by your self will help you put less concentration on the pain.
