How long will Tooth White lightening last?

The Tooth White lightening consequences of different bleaching techniques can persist for 1 or 2 years, but this varies from person to person. Research on dentist prescribed “home” bleaching treatment has found that for people who achieved a lighter shade, only half of them still had nicer teeth six months later. Your eating, drinking, smoking and brushing habits may have an effect on how long these Tooth White treatments last.

Itis important to keep in mind that bleaching doesn’t always end in the whiteness that you expect. The results alter from individual to individual and depend on the shade of your teeth before bleaching. For this reason, itis important to discuss all of the possible options for improving the appearance of your teeth with your dentist before you decide on the Tooth White treatment for you.

Special considerations

There are some examples when a dentist may counsel that you don’t have bleaching. For instance, if you have tooth rot, this may be treated before starting any Tooth White lightening treatments. Similarly, your gums should be healthy, so if you’ve got any gum disease this is going to be dealt with.

If your teeth are highly responsive to cold and hot food or drinks, bleaching might not be recommended because to obtain that Tooth White smile, adegree of sensitiveness might need to be endured.

Some types of marking ( eg tetracycline antibiotic marking ) doesn’t reply to bleaching as well as others. Bleaching, if successful, may take longer on tetracycline discolored teeth.

All dental treatment carries a risk of side effects, which are the unwelcome, but mostly non permanent effects of a successful treatment. Side effects include short lived sensitiveness of the teeth to cold and hot, a sore throat, tender gums and white patches on the gums. These side-effects should vanish after a few days.
